Our Dean‘s Message
The Tavşanlı Faculty of Applied Sciences contributes to education at the undergraduate and graduate levels through its departments of Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Recreation Management, and Management Information Systems. Our faculty educates its students with both theoretical and practical knowledge through applied fields and internship-supported curriculum. It prepares its students for their professions with the values, characteristics, and culture of Kütahya Dumlupınar University, aiming to graduate them capable of operating globally and even as pioneers in their fields.
Our faculty, located on the Tavşanlı Campus, has been working with its expert academic staff since 2013 to ensure our students enjoy a well-equipped educational experience, utilizing its physical, technical, and social facilities. Furthermore, the physical and social improvements implemented at our faculty have earned us the award for Accessibility in Space (Orange Flag) and Accessibility in Socio-Cultural Activities (Blue Flag) from the Council of Higher Education, and have earned us the recognition as an Accessible Faculty.
Students accepted to our faculty have the opportunity to explore and work in diverse academic environments both domestically and internationally through the Farabi and Erasmus programs. Our faculty, driven by the belief that contemporary education is more effective by combining theory and practice, provides internship opportunities through protocols signed with local, national, and international institutions.
Our faculty's primary goal is to prepare our students for the professional world, in addition to imparting theoretical knowledge. Therefore, our course content and curriculum are based on a practice-oriented curriculum. We collaborate with leading representatives from relevant sectors to enhance our students' knowledge of professional life by organizing conferences, seminars, symposiums, and career days.
The Tavşanlı Campus, which also houses our faculty, features the Arslanbey Student Dormitory, affiliated with the Credit and Dormitories Institution, various sports facilities, walking and activity areas, a general canteen, prayer rooms, study rooms, and a conference hall. These features offer our students a social and cultural campus life.
