Great Support for Education At Tavşanlı Faculty of Applied Sciences: Tubif Restaurant Reopens with A Renovated Look

On April 27, 2026, the restaurant located within our Faculty was completely renovated with the support of GUA Coffee Company and reopened with a magnificent ceremony.
Adding another project to its initiatives aimed at increasing the social opportunities for university students and staff, our Faculty has brought a modernized restaurant to the campus. The opening ceremony of the venue, modernized with the contributions of GUA Coffee Company, was attended by Kütahya Member of Parliament Mehmet Demir, Dumlupınar University Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak, Tavşanlı Deputy Mayor Aziz Solmaz, Kütahya Dumlupınar University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Arif Özgür, our Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Aydın Kayabaşı, and Tavşanlı Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. The opening ceremony was attended by İsmet Çelik, District National Education Director Raşit Refik Küçükkağnıcı, Tavşanlı Chamber of Commerce and Industry Assembly President İlhami Aydın, Chamber General Secretary İbrahim Akpınar, Public Education Center Director Abdullah Öztürk, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur Saylan, GUA Coffee Company Operations Manager İbrahim Halil Avcı, the university's academic and administrative staff, and Tavşanlı press representatives.
During the opening ceremony, the faculty's practical kitchen was toured, and information was obtained from the Head of the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdar Eren, and the department's students. Following this, an opening dinner was held for the guests at the restaurant, which was renovated with the support of GUA Coffee Company. During the speeches at the dinner, Kütahya Member of Parliament Mehmet Demir emphasized the importance of the Tavşanlı campus in terms of Kütahya Dumlupınar University's scientific and social activities. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak, who delivered the opening speech, stated that they will continue to improve the quality of university living spaces. Furthermore, students from the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department actively participated in this important event, taking on roles in the kitchen and service departments, thus reinforcing their theoretical knowledge in a practical setting.
As part of the program, Kütahya Member of Parliament Mehmet Demir presented a plaque to Associate Professor Uğur Saylan for his role in facilitating external stakeholder contacts during the restaurant renovation. Additionally, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak, presented the university's key to İbrahim Halil Avcı, Operations Manager of GUA Coffee Company, on behalf of the company for their financial support in the restaurant renovation.
